Now here is a no contract phone plan that means business!
I completed my last phone contract with a supplier over 4 years ago and have never looked back. For a couple of years, I used a tracphone and that worked well since I also still had my land line which I thought (at the time) was a pretty good deal as part of a bundle through time warner. Last year I got rid of the land line and brought down my cable bill by getting rid of my DVR and stations I don’t watch anyway. I hooked up with Boost and paid $50.00 a month for unlimited calls, text and web. I was saving money and thrilled with the service UNTIL just last week when I bought a phone through straight talk and a 30-Day card for only $30! I get 1000 minutes of calls and another 1000 in text messages along with 30mg of web and free 411 calls.
I can move up to unlimited by buying a 45 minute card but don’t I don’t anticipate needing over 1,000 minutes. Bye-Bye Boost and hello Straight Talk! Here’s to another $20 trimmed from my monthly expenses!

Some Like it HOT! Free McIlhenny Tabasco Sauce at Giant Eagle
While prepping for a mega Giant Eagle shopping trip this morning, I came across another freebie or cheapie depending on your coupon.
McIlhenny’s Tabasco Sauce is on sale for $1.33. If you picked up the booklet of coupons from the Celebrate Tailgate display at some Giant Eagles, it included a .75/1 coupon that spices up a shopping trip for FREE.
Not to fret if you didn’t pick up the booklets – there is a .50 coupon available at the McIlhenny website which I’m assuming will double which still equals a great deal at only .33. Since my printer is out of ink, maybe someone can print one out to confirm the coupon can be doubled by posting a comment to this post.
While checking out the site for a coupon (because I love you guys) I found the history behind this family owned company and just what goes into creating the sauce fascinating. I wonder if Edmund McIlhenny could have imagined
that his post civil war endeavors would have kept his family and Avery island “sauced” for five generations. One of the biggest issues in a generational business is whether or not the kids are going to keep the original vision in mind which has been the case up until now. The industry is now hinting the family is considering selling. I hope not. I love the thought of the sauce aging in those white oak barrels instead of a big mechanical vat.
Well, I intended on just telling you about a great deal, but what can I say – I’m a history buff. If you are too, you can indulge here or pick up the book McIlhenny’s Gold: How a Louisiana Family Built the Tabasco Empire.
So, I’m finally off to Giant Eagle where Heinz, Steamfresh and now Tabasco awaits. I better stop off at Walgreens and fill up my ink cartridges too before I miss out on some hot printables!
Happy Shopping & Saving!

Annie’s Calendar with Coupons & Recipes

Head over to Annies Homegrown to score a nicely illustrated 2010 calendar for just one UPC code you can enter online (don’t even have to pay for a stamp). It includes recipes and a few great coupons too! We LOVE Annie’s here! If you haven’t tried her mac ‘n cheese products (especially Shells and White Cheddar) use the $1 coupon included, combine it with a sale and let us know what you think. We think it’s puts Kraft Mac n’ Cheese to shame!
Free Neosporin Lip Health at CVS
I think just about every other deal blog I have viewed today has this hot deal posted already (so I don’t know who to credit for the original discovery) but thought I would add it here too just in case “you” haven’t seen it yet.
Looks like I missed this last time around but I’m in on the resetting of of this high value $3/1 coupon you can get here with registration. Combined with the clipless coupon at CVS (already uploaded into registers so you don’t need a coupon) you can pick it up for FREE (if you can find it in stock).
Progresso Soup $1/1 Coupon
Yippie! It’s the Classics on sale this week (also hearty and reduced sodium) so I can stock up on their Lentil soup. We love to mix in some rice, spinach, garlic and fresh veggies for an easy lunch that combines all the essential amino acids adding up to a complete protein fix. I’m loaded up with $1.10/3 coupons available here and .25/1 (double to .50) and .50/2 (double to $1) from 9/13 and 10/4 SmartSource inserts. Another great thing about the Lentil soup – No MSG. Now if they would just add their Cream of Mushroom soup to the list of those with no msg, we would really be set at my house.
go here for a (high fiber) $1/1 printable and keep refreshing your browser until the ad shows up on the right. Yup, you can print it twice per compter.
Thanks to poster lucyrevenge in the couponmom forum for sharing this find!
